About

I got into art when I was about 12 years old.  That’s when I can remember doing my first drawing. I  drew something out of my Nickelodeon magazines.  From then on, that was all I spent my free time doing.  I really started to take it seriously once I got to junior high.  I took art every semester until I graduated high school.  I was also a bit of a nerd in school so I listened to my family when they suggested that I become a doctor instead of following my heart.  I majored in biology when I entered college. I was never really happy. I was spending all my money and free time shooting pictures of my friends and painting.  I received my first “F” in Chemistry 2. I was too busy drawing my classmates instead of taking notes during lectures. I changed my major soon afterwards.

Changing my major was the best decision I could have made. At first, I decided to major in photography until I went to a faculty art show.  I saw this design piece from one of my future professors, Allison Melton, and I knew I wanted to do whatever that person was doing for the rest of my life.  The next day, I changed my major to graphic design and minored in photography.  Photography was something that came pretty naturally to me.  I figured all I needed was a few classes to learn different techniques and I’d be fine but with graphic design I knew I was gonna  need a lot more help.  I also never wanted to burn out eventually with photography. I want it to always remain a passion of mine that doesn’t get exhausted from years of overdoing it to support myself.

Besides my art, I like to spend my free time, which is very rare these days, learning new things. I’ve also gotten into working out and running, although my work schedule sometimes has me a bit exhausted–I’m an extreme workaholic that can’t get enough of my career. I’m also a person that loves flying kites and a self-proclaimed nerd that enjoys the greatness of the internet and books. I secretly want to have a library which will consist of all the books I’ve read.  I’m a social network freak lol and I’m on just about all of them.  I love movies and sci-fi!  Not really a tv person–starving artist who needs sleep lol, but I do watch Grey’s Anatomy and Heroes both of which are available via the internet.

I also have an intense passion for travel, culture, and language. I feel that they are very important for an artists’ development. If you’d like to assist with travels I’d be more than thankful for any donations to further expand visually as an artist. Thanks in advance.
