This is for a series of posters for the American HomePatient for their branch in Longview, TX. They wanted something VERY simple. The client wanted to make the fonts “snappy and appealing”. And they didn’t need other design elements. My first thought was to do something extravagently awesome but I had to remember that they wanted something simple. This was for a corporate client that is more specifically in the medical industry so I decided for a clean corporate look an feel. The posters were to be 14×20 big and hung in their different offices. I designed everything in Indesign and luckily had this great serif font already in my archives (I save random cool fonts on my hard drive in my spare time lol). These are just a few of the designs I sent over an she was ecstatic with the results.

Excited to say that I just finished work on the new site for Price of Popularity! We launched it last night. It was a ton a fun and I’m thankful to have a bit more experience in web under my belt. In case you’re wondering Price of Popularity is a progressive clothing apparel brand based in New Orleans. A friend of mine, Senedra, is an awesome clothing designer and since its creation in 2009 we’ve worked together with marketing and branding for the company. I’ll admit in our early days we really didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into but through determination, creativity, and teamwork the brand is growing in popularity and making its way to more mainstream artist and bloggers. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this brand.

A client of ours, KC Enterprises, needed some new business cards done. I was so ready for the challenge. Its been a while since I’ve done some business cards and I felt a bit out of practice. KC Enterprises is a reality company that specializes in single family dwellings, duplexes and small multi-family units. I’ve never done any work for a a reality company. I wanted the cards to be clean and professional while at the same time make it clear that they were a reality company. Here are a few of the designs that I submitted to the company. Once submitted the client, Shango Cooke, responded “The card choices look very professional. Thanks, again.” It always makes me feel pretty good to make clients happy.

I really needed to see this today. It is truly an inspirational video. As of lately, maybe with it being a new year, I’ve really been trying to focus on doing what really makes me happy. I feel like I did a pretty good job at it last year but I want to do an even better job this year. This year I’d love to focus more on traveling and meeting new people. I also want to really take the time to live in the moments that I share with the people I care about and hang out with. I guess you could call this my resolution; to just live in the moments. I feel that as a society we’ve become too infatuated with things that really aren’t “real”. Things that really won’t matter when we’re old and dying. I just don’t want to get to the end of my life to be filled with a ton of “I should have done this” or “I should have done that.” For me collecting experiences is more important than riches and videos like this really make me remember the way in which I choose to live my life. I hope that it does the same for you.

Currently working on updating the Price of Popularity site for my good friend, Senedra, who’s the founder of the popular apparel line. She’s been expressing to me certain “problems” she’s been having with the current site. As a designer I feel as if I’m a problem solver. I find solutions to marketing “problems”.

I’ve been really digging the new approach to really learning web design with the guys over at Team Treehouse. I feel like I’ve really been learning a lot and I have a far better understanding of the way in which the web works. With that being said I was thrilled to test out my growing web design skills with her site overhaul.

I’m pretty sure that we’ll have bumps and hiccups along the way and I’m looking forward to them. They allow for more learning and experience. And with all web design I feel its never ending. You’re always going to be looking for new ways to improve. Let the games begin!

A good friend of mine is graduating this month with her masters. To celebrate such a great achievement I decided to make her some cool invitations. I also needed to take a few photos to use as well but we didn’t have much time to do it. Our schedules are pretty crazy so we only had one day to shoot and only the space of about 20 minutes or so on account of the sun going down so early now. Once I got that done the next day I got the invites together an printed. Now they are happily on their way to her family. I hope they like them. I tried to make them more modern and cool than the regular stuffy invites most people use. I also decided to design is like a postcard to save money and time with envelopes and such. I hope her family loves them.
